SMWCDO is involved in Awareness and Advocacy programs on various themes related to the rights of women and children and the general societal well being, in the context of the Somali societies.

SMWCDO organizes various activities such as workshops, seminars for community stakeholders, radio programs and public forums on the following themes; Sexual exploitation and abuse, Elimination of FGM in all its forms, Elimination of VAW and SGBV, Women and Child Rights, Environmental & Natural Resource Conservation and HIV/AIDS.

SMWCDO organizes forums to commemorate various days on the UN and human rights calendar and the Somali National days relevant to its thematic areas. These include the FGM Zero Tolerance Day, the International Women’s Day, International Day of Peace, Universal children’s day, Sixteen Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence, the International Day against VAW, the International Women Human Rights Defenders Day, International AIDS Day and the Human Rights Day.
